TR Finals begin!!
The long awaited Transformational Reconstruction Finals 2013 began this week.
This is a design competition organised by Shingo Sato using his Transformational Reconstruction design method. 51 competitors from 24 countries around the world have been selected to take part. Voting will be open to the public by clicking "like" below the desirable photos on this web site. I am honoured to be taking part.
I have to confess that I feel quite a lot of pressure with this competition. Most of the participants are far better and more experienced than me. I am taking part because somehow the pressure and competition drives me to stretch beyond my normal comfort level and push the boundaries. This is a positive thing. It is quite time consuming, so between managing 2 little ones under the age of 4, and doing this....don't ask me how many house jobs are being done!!
So on to my submission for the TR finals....task 1.
This task was to use the techniques of TR draping and draping using a twist .
We are only allowed to upload one photo with no name attached for anonymous voting. We have been given 2 days to complete it.
SO here begins the drama.
As it turns out, I ended up doing 3 samples, because I was not 100% happy with my initial effort.

So....not being happy with this, I went on to have another attempt at a different design.:
Call me mad if you must, but I was still not happy, so went on to make a third attempt. ...a modification of the 2nd effort.
Now came decision time....which one to use?? You wont believe this, but after all this effort (lets just call it a learning curve!!) I ended up choosing the first design!!
So dear readers,...its over to you. Which one would you have chosen?
I am relying on your voting to keep me in this competition.... so please go on over to the TR Platforms Finals 2013 page and look for my black design , then please click "like" below it to register your vote for me.
You will see some pretty amazing designs there. They are a bunch of very talented people, who I admire.
This will be an ongoing competition for the next 3 months (if I am not eliminated before then!!) You can expect to see more sample designs posted here according to the task we have been given that week.
Although they're all wonderful, I agree with your choice, Elizabeth. I have voted, and will keep voting. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support Kathryn!! I still have a doubt whether or not I made the right decision. A few people have said that they prefer the 2nd one ("rose").
ReplyDeleteIn any case, its this very process that is stretching my cretivity and for that Im greatful. The competition is tough as you would have seen on the TR finals page. Appreciate your encouragement and support.
